The MoU has been signed between National Cooperative Federation of Nepal (NCF) and Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative ltd. (IFFCO) to promote coop to coop business, and to support Nepalese farmers on 23rd Sept 2019. As per the agreement, its agreed that IFFCO will support to enhance the coop to coop business, training, and exposure, research and development, capacity building for better service delivery as well as in innovation and strengthen cooperative bonds.
IFFCO also agreed to provide 1100 kits containing samples of SAGARIKA, Water Soluble Fertilizer, Bio fertilizer and Bio Decomposer for all seven provinces of Nepal for organizing trails on these products through NCF. Whereas NCF, in support with technical expert, will monitor the progress of trials and collect feedbacks.
It’s also agreed that NCF will send a group of 25 progressive farmers and 25 extension workers for an exclusive training program to get complete knowledge of the products, its proper usage and to ensure the desired results.Based on the success of these products amongst farmers in Nepal, IFFCO will provide all the agreed products to NCF for its distribution/ marketing in Nepal and subsequently setup a manufacturing facilities of such products in Nepal in collaboration with NCF. IFFCO also agreed to provide necessary technical support for the promotion of these products, and to conduct training programs for Nepalese Cooperators, in IFFCO for their capacity development. NCF is agreed to pilot and market the IFFCO products in Nepal for their business extension.
The MoU has been signed by the General Manager of NCF, Ms. Chitra Kumari Thamsuhang Subba, and the Director (CD & Tech) of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), Mr. G.K Gautam in presence of the Chairperson of NCF, Keshav Prasad Badal, the Managing Director of IFFCO, Dr. U.S. Awasthi, the senior Vice Chairperson, Min Raj Kadel, the Vice Chairperson and ICA Global Board Member Om Devi Malla, the Marketing Director of IFFCO Mr. Yogendra Kumar, the Jt. General Manager (Cooperative Relations) Mr. Tarun Bhargava. It’s believed that the collaboration will support to make significant impact on the agricultural sector in Nepal.
